Illuminator

The last part of my summer I spent some time making minor adjustments to this illuminator as some dimensions and more specifically, tolerances were out by enough to lose full function of the illuminator. It meant the swing mirrors couldn’t full deploy as the lens mount was blocking it. I added small radii cutouts to each mirror arm block to allow for some breathing space for the swing mirrors. 

This solved the issue, allowing the mirrors to fully deploy.

Other changes I made: 

• I extended the rod for adjusting the iris in the middle, when it was fully to the left or right you would lose it to the lid because it was on an arc.
• Not pictured but I increased the hole in the lid so when the mirrors were deployed into the middle, the rod would still be ‘floating’ and not pressed up against the lid as originally it was doing this and meant the mirror would be off centre to the laser light.
