Third year Summer
Amongst other small projects, this summer was a little uneventful in terms of project fruition.
The major project for the summer was to create a lifting jig for Cryostats. The main issues I had to solve were the following:
- Had to lift up to 45kg
- Lift all variants of Cryostats which varied in all areas including weight, diameter and overall shape which meant attaching to the lifting jig would prove difficult.
- The jig had to reach over a system and lift 600mm.
- The jig had to roll to move out of people’s way and to move the cryostats around.
